Why does everyone use such stiff front springs?

I am running 900\1000 and may go lighter. though several people commented on seeing my front end drop when I got of the gas, the car doesnt bottom out etc.

I am only getting a even 2 inches of travel up front.
1.5 lr and 4.5 rr.

corner when i crack the throttle. Im assuming the only reason it was noticed is because nobody elses moves, at all.

isnt the point of a spring just to keep you from bottoming out? no more is needed right.

seems like a case of monkey see monkey do on the 1100-1500 lb springs people run.

my car went anywhere I pointed it anytime.

this sounds stupid but are you running a sway bar i know a guy that wasnt the car was rolling over bad causing handling problem they chased every thing but that he said it wasnt there when he bought car , we run 900/1100 on a 3100lb car , springs also controls ride height

there is a lot more to question before anyone could even try to answer you. But as we say in racin "if it works for you, use it."

If it works run it. Springs depend on track, the way you enter the corner, drivers preference,as long as ride height is fine and it is not bottoming out sounds like you got a good setup.

has alot to do with your front roll center a lower roll center will require a stiffer spring due to more weight transfer and a higher center will take a lighter spring I have heard some street stocks running 800lb springs in front
