Sorry It's been the whole tire that is ripping off. They are 205/70 15's. i have a 4 inch offset and 29 lbs of pressure. The first tire was a Dayton and the second tire was a BFG.

You don't need that high of pressure on the RR. We run 24 lbs in the RR and use a tube and have no such problems.

we run about 20lbs with a tube on a 1/2 mile semi bank track the only problem we ever had was cutting the out side of the tread because it was going into the quater since then replaced spring ok how old are spring and shocks?

what do you actually mean by ripping off? is a the whole tread coming off in one piece and rolling away or chunking off? have you been hitting anyone by mistake?

We had the same problem. Tried Firehawks, GY Eagles and BFG tires and they all chunked out pieces the size of silver dollars on the outside of the tread. In a 15 lap feature we have completely torn all the tread off. Usually ran 21-23 # pressure on Rt rear with tubes. Never did find a solution. More air press. seemed to help tires last, but sacrificed sidebite and forward traction. Also we had trouble breaking the flanges off axles, just inside the bolt pattern. I think we broke 5 axles in about 50 nights with the Ford 9 inch. I would reccommend that you invest in good axles if you are ruining tires, because they'll be the next problem. Sorry that I don't have a solution, maybe someone else has had this same problem and can help us both.

I have never heard of this at our track. I run cooper cobras 255's on the rear and run 14 lr and 15 rr, with tubes, and they are holding up very well. We consistantly turn 5700-6100 rpm's on any given night, and our track can get very rough. 3/8 med. bank I won't run anything but the cobras, they have been great

I raised my air pressures up to 32 on the pass side and had no probs with my tires. Plus I got my best finish of this season. amazing what finishing with rubber on the tire will do LOL

I think at our track running at 32 would take all the tread off by spinning. I run 21-23 on the rr w/no beadlock and 16-21 on the left.
