Springs is one thing that needs replaced and rear gear
I run a 3/8 high bank track and my springs are
lf-1100 rf-1300
lr-300 rr-250

As for gear motor ci. trans that you will be running and what rpm you want to be turning = rear gear ratio
I run a 406 a powerglide in drive with a 5.83 gear and turn the motor 6500 rpm`s
running 255/60r/15 tires.. as for the %`s
i would shoot for 52-54 left %, 51-53 rear %, 50-53 cross % ( give it the gas and don`t look back)

I'm with racer17 on this one. I run on a long half mile and a short .4 that is like a cereal bowl and I use the same springs.

yup i got a 406 too.its got all the goodies in it.6" rods,je pistons,solid cam,cheated up camel humps.
if i wasnt smooth it would spin the tires to the flagstand on the 5/8 with a 5.57 rear.
