Just curious how much time everyone spends on their car during the week, if everything goes well on race night.

Well if everything goes right on race night I usually spend 1 night but so far this year I've had to work on it at least 2 night and since i also work on my sponsors car I've been out just about everynight since the start of the season.

Well, I drive with a set of wrenches in my left hand. There's always something that needs to be adjusted!

Im lucky to unload my car two or three days before i go and race again. I raced tuesday night, and I havent touched it yet. I race tomorrow, and I will probably just pull the fenders out and let her buck.

I always fix broken stuff, and do a good "once over" but I dont get carried away with tinkering, and whatever.

I spent all winter building it, and I put A TON of time into it then, now its just dent pulling and repairs for me.

The day after each race I unload and wash it. Make a list of stuff that has to be done by next race. THen work out as many of those things as early in the week as possible. Some weeks takes everyday a little each night, some weeks a day and a half or so. THen me a some freinds kill cans looking at it and b/s about how fast we all are.

I agree with you ATL. Theres been many a night that my friends and me and Bud Light share our moments staring at the car. It always looks fast sitting there in the garage all nice and clean. We'll start it up just to get that smell of the racing fuel. I'm lucky, my wife loves it as much as I do. We work on it as it needs it.She likes to do the touch up on the paint and wash it

Well lets see now, about 3,000 hrs thru out the winter. Then the the trail day, OOPs broke an axle another 2days worth of work. (small bolt broke in the pin that holds gears in). Then the my first heat race engine ****ped out. The piston wedge in the #5 cylinder and the rod when thru the wall. Well now pull motor and purchase new block, misc parts. Another 2 weeks sneak by and still need to assemble and get my 5minutes of racing in. I keep telling myself I LOVE RACING.
