Has anyone seen oil pressure jump up and down and stay steady for a second and jump again. I think it's caused by the oil pan.

Is it a new motor?

Sometimes on a new motor silicone will build up on the pick up and the oil pressure will vary

What weight oil? May be contributed to too heavy weight and not enough clearances.

50W VALVOLINE RACING
I used it before and had no problems.
What ever the problem was it made me break a rod.

I'd look at the whole picture as far as a rod failure bearings yes but I'd look at my torque specs and machine work and fasteners and all the mechanical componets alsojmo
