I have a distibutor and not even sure where I got or what it came it, but it appears that it is a distributor that was set up for electronic timing advance.

It has no vacuum set up on it and the electronic module has a place for extra wires to be connected.

Since it has no timing advance....will this work similiar to one welded or locked?

yes it will behave like a locked dist all the advance features were handled by the ecm on the original car.

Thanks Donnie.. That was what I thought it would do, but I have never heard of anyone running it.

We thought about just changing the pick up coil or connector to allow the use of the standard electronic module.

Any thoughts?

You can tie two of the wires together in the 4 pin harness & run the stuff that is in it. I can't remember what colors, but I have it wrote down at the shop if you want them. I would convert it to the old stuff though, not many people carry that type of module to the track! You never know, you might have to borrow one.

I left the original pickup in there and spliced on an older style 4 pin module pickup plug on the end. You will need a bit of extra length to get it to mount the module in the same spot. Arnt the plug for the pickup on the opposite ends? But anyways , just redrill the hole for the older style module and go racing.. dont forget the heat sink grease!!!

Thanks for the help.... I had considered just splicing the wires and then thought it might just be better to change the pickup coil.
