I have Simpson 5 point safety harness and it's a little tight between my legs,
I've adjusted the belts but it seems really tight down there, any way to alleviate the
pressure?

Don't laugh either!

Some of us aren't that gifted & don't have that prob!!!! LOL You might try to move your mounts. It took me 3 tries to get mine comfortable. I found out you dont want it too loose when you run into something solid. YEOUCH!!!!!!

Man, talk about a "hunkahunk burnin love".
I think its about how you cinch the belts and how theyre placed. mine has a good angle midthigh towards crotch and is less binding.
I also use my wifes old lambswool shoulder harness pad around the old tenor tube. thast what we call belt #5.

Without knowing how tight you are talking, everyone I have talked to or built a car for has been worried about that, (myself included) until I flipped mine 6 times on the front straight, and a customer of mine rolled his 4 times and both of us said we didn't move around at all. My point is, they hold you down in the seat, without them the belts let you ride up and that aint good. Strap in without it and try to stand up several times. You will keep moving upward, the same as you would in a flip but much worst if you actually flipped, then try it with it, you ain't going anywhere that way. I am guessing but I am saying that you are just uncomfortable with it, which is natural, but mount it like the instructions say, and by all means, USE IT!!!

Preach on, racerguy500.

The submarine belt is sorta uncomfortable and I even hurt "myself" once in a head on wreck, but I don't think its a good idea to skip it. Not only does it keep you down in the seat, it also prevents you from sliding under the harness and jamming yourself under the dash.

Changing a 5 point to a 4 point is a pretty bad idea. Feeling comfortable and safer and actually being safer are 2 different things.

Went to WalMart and bought a cup ( like you used to use playing soccer and baseball).
It works great!! I can really snug the belts down now, and there's no pressure down there at all !!
Plus I feel much safer with the belts jacked down tight.

Thanks!

i had that same problem, what i did was not run it thru the hole cut in the seat i ran it over the front of the seat.still holds the belts down, and no bind on the "jewels".and i have sadley tested it more than once, and it worked perfect.good luck.

Te 33 has the right idea.

If your a bigger guy you need to move the crotch mount forward futher.

it doesnt have to be resting or pulling on your body it just needs to hold your lap belts over your hips when you cinch down the shoulder straps.
