I ran a little hot on Friday night. Going over the car Sat, everything looked fine. Decided to do a compression test just the same and all cylinders are 170 to 180 EXCEPT 7. The 7 cylinder has 210? Why would this cylinder be so much higger and is this a problem? I run a 355 with 305 heads.
Thanks for any help on this.

If just one cylinder is high, it usually points to a valvetrain issue. Either a loose rocker or worn cam lobe. If the valves aren't staying open as long, it will make pumping compression higher. Odd case could also be oil getting into the cylinder, but I'd pull the valve cover and have a look.

Thank you Raz_900. I did notice the rockers were a little loose and adjusted but still got 210. Will do alittle more research and hope it is nothing major, Heck we'll just say that is a great cylinder LOL. Thanks again

May be oil running down the valve stem as #7 is a rear cyl and the oil collects there before if runs back to pan. Just a thought
