This may be another dumb question, but I have never done this before...How do you remove the pulley from the alternator? Do you use a hex key to keep the shank in place and turn off the nut with a wrench? Thats the way it looks to me. Or do I need something special to do the job? I am trying to replace the stock pulley with a larger "race" pulley.
Thanks!

if you have a strong impact you can hold the pulley and wrench will spin it off real quick. if not get the hex wrench.. later...or you can put a wrench on the nut and hit it hard and sharply with hammer it will break it loose...hope this helps
