Has anyone tried late 1970's Impala spindles on a metric Monte Carlo?

The ball joints appear to have the same size and taper and it looks as if you would have to use the Impala brake calipers.

The Impala spindles are almost 1" taller than the metric spindles. I am led to belive that the taller spindle can improve the front-end geometry and favorably change the roll center. Is my thinking right, or am I wayyy out in left field???

Thanks again.

Yes I run them on my metric malibu,I use the Mopar screw in ball joint, plus you
get the bigger brakes with the impala spindles,Works good for me,and the parts are readily available at most of the parts houses, Hope this helps you out!!!!

If your track allows you to interchange them then go for it. the impala spindles are better all the way around.

camaro 79 and up. or big gm car 79 and up have a larger outer brg. all else is the same.

they will widen the front of your metric car about 3.5 inches also, just so you know.

youll have to use a longer tie rod also on one or the other end.

How about the major + camber you gain when you put these spindles on? I test fitted some Trans Am ones on my car, but kept them off because it didn't look good. Do you guys shim the RF in as much as possible? Does the camber gain durng suspension travel make up for it?

Seen a 78 Caddy front spindle and the tie rod eye is even height with lower ball joint. Does the Impala spindle have the lower eye too?

I've heard of running a bigger caliper on the left front of a metric chassis to help turn the car with braking. Is this the way to accomplish it..with an impala/caprice spindle & rotor?

I know guys that run them and like them. You can also get a adapter so you can run the smaller lighter metric calipers on them.
