Sorting through my spare parts I've found some metric spindles that the stub is about 1/2" shorter then what is on my '87 chassis. Are these earlier spindles off a 78~80 chassis? Also - are they as durable as the bigger stubs? Thanks for the help, Jim

The outer wheel bearing is definately smaller on the small stub one then on the large stub one. No good for racing?

I have ran the smaller bearing spindal before with no trouble. Lots of guys say your better off with the large bearing spindal though.

You can get outer wheel bearings that will allow the 81-up hub to fit the 78-80 spindle. I'm not certain, but I believe that if you ask for an outer bearing for a 68-72 Chevelle you'll be in business.
