How does a cable clutch setup work, having a hard time picturing it in my head. I am currently running a hydraulic setup but I am running into a lot of clearance issues with the master cylinder and clutch pedal which I have already had to cut in half to make work. I have a typical clutch pedal, I think its a wilwood. I also have a heavy duty cable that would be perfect thats from some piece of heavy duty equipment, already has the threaded areas for brackets etc... Right now I am using a pull type slave cylinder so the cable will be pulling the fork just like the slave cylinder is now right? Not sure if the pedal pushes a rod on the Master Cylinder or pulls one. If it pulles then the cable will work great, but what keeps tension on the pedal when its in the "out" position or is that an issue? Anyone understand what I am saying? I am feeling like an idiot right now....

i made a quick fix last year. i welded a flat bar on my pedal cut the floor out and installed a threaded rod on it to hook up to the fork. you will need to install a spring to keep tension off of bearing. not the best way but it was a quick fix at the track and worked good enought to finish out the year..

Well it was all fine until I lowered my car, then it caused my tire to hit my master cylinder when turned. I cant move my master cylinder the way I need because my role cage is in the way. Just wondering how a cable works, if I hook it up to my pedal to pull the fork, what keeps tension on the pedal to pull it back etc...
