Is it common to shorten the upper rear trailing arms an 1" or around there to get pinoin angle right on a metric???

It is common to shorten the upper trailing arms to get better forward bite. I think 1" is to much you want about 5 degrees off the bottom differentual so that the front of the differntual is pointing towards the ground and not up.You want to shorten the upper trailing arms about 3/8" to 1/2" shorter.That should give you about the 5 degrees that you need. Hope this helps

yep that helps and an 1"was probably too much.Is that with chassi level or in compairison to drive shaft angle??? thanks a bunch

i just redrill holes and weld washers over them alot quicker

That's what we do drill new holes and weld washers over the new holes. Then grind the excess off the end of the trailing arm.

Has anyone made their own tubular rear arms? The stock pieces really **** and I think I'm going to make new ones from tube to stiffen them up and to keep them from twisting/bending.

Yep they do it all the time.We used to be able to run heim end uppers til they changed the rule wording.

DCa fabrication in Michigan makes aftermarket uppers and lowers in stock legnth. After Breaking a stock piece and meeting the 4th turn wall at a high rate of speed, it's the only thing I'll put on my car now. They are much stronger than stock
