Almost forgot how much initial timming should a pontiac 400 have? And what timming should it be around @ race RPM's?? We think we found our overheating problem. Turns out at 5000 rpm out timing was advanced to 60. This is tooo much no???
Thanks again

yeah, just a tab to much. At race rpm's it should be around 36 degrees give or take a degree or two.

Heard said around 26 for stock intakes and 36 for headers although I ran mine at 42, I also used distilled water with some Hyper-lube additive in it and had no overheating problems. Eddie
