If I go to Vortec heads what do I have for options for a cast iron intake class? SDPC makes a "GM" intake that is a bolt on #14097499 - but is anything else out there? Will a bowtie high rise #14097494 fit on Vortec heads? It's described as being for 87-94 heads - I take it these are low runner heads? What have people done? Any opinions? In a perfect world I'd run different heads - but these are available pretty darn cheap to me. Thanks for the help.

You can drill and tap the vortec heads to accept the older style intakes and fel-pro makes a thicker intake gasket that works with this combination..

Will this intake work on your heads? I have a 90' engine that requires this intake with the adapters but i do not know if it would be legal. My rules require a stock production cast iron intake. Would this item qualify?

I have run the old style on a set of heads that were re-drilled and the cast iron from SDPC. The SDPC is far better due to the aweful port match the older manidold achieves. BUT I also own a GM Aluminum high rise Performance parts manifold--talk about waking a motor up!
