I run a 1/3 mile asphalt. I was wondering how one would go about pre-featheredging a tire. It isnt a new tire as we can run new tires that are over 70 series. I have 60 series but it still has good tread. I keep trying to run these and after a couple races it is chunking out on the outside edge. I know i have enuff camber. But if i could get it pre-featheredged that might help. Maybe a grinder with one of those sanding disks that are numerous pieces of sand paper on a fiber glass backing, or just a regular orbital with 180 grit? what do you guys think? all help appreciated. thanks.

My personal opion what type of tire are you running we switched tires this year to a bfgoorich and are having trouble with them chunking out but they get such a good grip that it litteraly rips the block away from the tire

try going to a treadwear of 680 or so that should help

If you want to really harden that tire up let it sit in the sun all day then in the dark get it hot and then cool that makes they really skin over

Iam afraid that if you prefeather it you will make it softer by taking that origanal skin off of it thats why them stock car boy do that so they can get a better bite to sofen up the tire
