First off, the rules allow you to run Dart heads but NOT headers??? LOL that sounds crazy to me. But anyways, Speedway sells a "Ram" manifold that might help. I'm not sure what manifolds came on the Chevy's from the factory that had factory angle plug heads??? Probably headers from the factory. If you don't want to go that route, then is there enough room to put heat sheilds on the plugs?? I used to drag race and we ran Chevy big-blocks and had the same troubles, although we were running headers. I bought some little shields that bolt on to the headers through the flange-to-head bolts and kept the wires from touching the headers. So maybe you could fab up some sheilds like this to bolt to your factory manifolds. Hope that helps. Oh yeah Speedway's website is www.speedwaymotors.com

2 of my plug wire's touch my manifolds.
I bought spark plug wire heat tape from MSD.
The wire can sit on the manifold and it doesn't burn.

Accel also makes header plug's which are a 1/4" shorter, would that help?

Double check with the track to make sure that rule is correct, we had the rule of no headers in the rule book for 2 years even though they were legal.
