Does anyone know if the GM high rise intake casting #14096012 is any good? I found one on the internet for sale and haven't looked at it close up, but the date code is from 1986 - are the ports in that one a lot different (worse) then a new one or is that a good casting to get? The guy wants $100 for it which seems fair and it's within driving distance. Thanks for any insight - Jim.

if im not mistaken the 4 middle bolt holes on that intake are on less of an angle than older style intakes which means you will have to elongate them to make it takes time but it will be worth it in horsepower... i switched to a bowtie and the flowdesign adapter for a holley 4412 and i could really feel a difference down the straights....the ports i believe are the same as a regular 4 barrel intake its just the middle 4 bolt holes that are different
