I have heard that brake fluid helps to break down the glue. I tried it last year and it didnt seem to work to good. Most of the time I sit in the front seat and kick out the front glass. When you find out how to get out the back glass without busting it, let me know.

.035 piano wire works good. remove any mouldings or trim inside and out. cut away a small section of sealer between the windshield and roof and stick the piano wire from the inside to the cutout section with needle nose pliers pull out a 2 ft section use vice grips on both ends inside and out with a buddy start a sawing motion and cut around the windshield works pretty good

You can use a strand of e-brake cable.

I use to work in a glass shop for four years so all the guys around here call me when they are building a car. All I use is a cold cut-out knife. Its just a regular windshield cut out tool. I cut the front and back out with it. Being the back is tempered glass you have to be extremely careful, dont not twist the nick in the tempered glass and it will shatter. Ive cut out 9 back glasses in the past 2 years and havent broken a single one...just luck. Call your local auto glass place and just ask them the easiest way to do it. Tell em its for a stock car, maybe theyll come and do it for a sponsorship? Good luck, glass work take a different breed to do it.

I'm lucky, my brother-in-law is a windshield guy. It cost me a dinner when he visited and about 10 minutes to get it out. They sell the knife at autozone and advanced for about 7 bucks I think. Safe way to get it out and no little parts.

I have found that an air chisel will take the glass out fast, then use a torch to burn the left over glue and a shop vac to clean up the mess.

P.S. Never let your 74 yoa Dad throw a brick at the windshild, they miss and get to put the first dent in the new car...

We mastered glass removal back in the demolition derby days. Leave all the windows up in the car, and wait till you have a 90 plus degree day. Windshield, get 2 guys in the front seat and simply kick it out. When they are that hot they come out pretty easy. For the side and rear windows. Put an old blanket over the seat and one outside the car on the ground. Then take a small piece of porcelain and throw it lightly at the window. They will explode into pieces about a third the size of a dime and fall straight down. Roll blankets up and shake into garbage then a few minutes with shop vac and you are set. For the goo, a gasket s****er works well.

I was in the process of carefully removeing the glass(my thought make a few bucks on Ebay) when the shop owner came over with a baseball bat and started swinging......took about 1 min and glass was gone
