I recently bought a Carter for my car It is a competition series 600. It didnt work with a flip. I was going through the corners flat footed and it wouldn't do squat! I asked a few mechanics and they said they didn't know anything about them. One guy did tell the way the float setup was it wouldn't work. Is this a lost cause?

I would say so. I don't know anything about them myself. but I haven't heard anything good about them.

I'm using a Carter also, and having the same problem. I guess it is a common thing - which carbs work better? I don't think I can run a Holley, because we're a stock class. I'm running a 360 Dodge engine. I wonder if a Thermoquad would work, or a Quadrajet?

you can try lowering your float levels but with the bowels on both sides and the float set up fuel will run from one side to the other in the corner they also **** in rock climber when you head up the hill they will flood out big time.

I ran an eldelbrock 600 this weekend and it worked great! Well in my case it did! Coming in the corners and comming off it would miss just enough to act almost like a track control. If the car bounces alot it would have a miss but, not enough to hurt me. But, you are all right they aren't a great carb. for circle track but, I like it.
