My 350 in my car recently gave out. The only other motor I was able to come across and get was a small journal 327. are these any good for a bomber compared to a 350?

Should work ok, it would better than sitting in the stands watching, wouldn't it?

I ran a 327 and it was quite torqy coming out of the corners, when that one expired I ran the 267 and finished the season 8th in the NASCAR standings out of 30 drivers, least I raced and had a good time of doing it. Eddie

Last year my buddy spent roughly about 6000 to 7000 bucks on many different engines in his 76 monte, NEVER ever finished a race....kept blowing em up. I think it was the yahoo thats was building them, but thats another debate. He finally got sick of it and painted the car orange and put a rebel flag on the roof and a 01 on the door, dropped in a 267 and ran it in the "last man standing enduro". He finished in the top 5 out of 30 some cars that went for 4 1/2 hours. He got out of the car and said that was the best engine he had in the car all year. go figure huh. needless to say he tried to run this springs enduro and the car didnt last.....hmmm i thin its about2 feet shorter now lol. good luck with the 327, I had another friend that runs one that was out of a old combine and hes running it in his street stock, hes not a front runner, but when hes with the front runners he can out pull them coming out of the corners. now he just needs more seat time. Good luck.

They do need some gearing to get you off the corner. If it is cammed right, you'll have a very decent motor. I won 2 main events last year with a 327, and it works really good on very black slick tracks.

any suggestions on a decent cam to run? As long as it has a smooth idle i can run it. Also, a couple of cars in my class are running 400 small blocks and are pretty fast. could a 327 be a contender?

There is an old saying if you are going bear hunting with a bb gun you better be a dam good shot . If you going to race against 400's with a 327 there is little room for error I'm not saying it can't be done just gonna be tuff. If your track dries out alot it will be to your advantage with the short stroke but when the track is heavy you will need more gear or less weight to be competive. I would try it cause i like to be the under dog and win with less just do your home work on set up . good luck.
