I have to run a turbo 350 tranny and am running a 7.5 rear end. I'm currently running a 3.73 in second gear but would like to get up to around a 6.00 final. I wanted to go up to a 3.90 but don't seem to see where I could get one. I thought about running a 2.41 in first but was told that running the tranny in first may not be good for it. Is it really that big of a deal as long as you have a good cooler?

try running 4.10 rear end gear in 2 gear you can find this gear in late 80 early 90 s10 pickups 2.5 with a stick call the local junk yard they aren't to hard to find. be carefull you may need the carrier also there are 3 different ones if you have a 3.73 already it should work

I thought about a 4.10. It's a little more gear than I wanted but it's still an option. I find it odd that nobody makes a 3.90 gear for a 7.5.

i find it odd that no one makes a 3.55 for a 7.5, with the large market there is for 7.5 gears you'd think that richmond or us gear would make a broader range of gears, 3.36,3.55,3.90,??? 6.22,

don't you think that 3.08, 3.42, 3.73, 4.11 are broad enough??? and with tire mix and match you can go up or down with that???

i use to run 4.11 with a really tall tire that brought my rpm's down to what i run with a 3.89 (ford 9")

Sure, that would work fine if I didn't already have a bunch of tires. Plus I already have the largest tire allowed under the rules. Those 4.11's are more than I want. So that leaves me needing something between a 3.73 and 4.11, which would be the nonexistant 3.90. I am running tires a few sizes smaller to get my rpm's up. Would still like a couple hundred more.

It is better to run a turbo 350 in first than it is to run it in second. second gear in a turbo is a sprag gear (lets go when you let off the throttle)

i run 3.42s and i am on a spec tire,ar 265-60-15 we have shorts and talls just enuff diff for stagger that is it,when the track is slick i'd like to maybe try a lesser gear but dropping to 3.23 or 3.08 is to much, when the track is tacky a 3.55 would be sweet but going up to a 3.73 is to much, plus there are other tracks around here that i would like to run and could use the inbetween gears we can't get, suppose i could just finally spend the cash and get a 9inch though, lol

Pet? Ive been running turbo 350's for years and mine doesnt let go in second. I lose maybe 300 RPM's when I drop the gas. Works great fo me. Oh ya its bone stock.
