We run our new cruiser saturday night my sister drives it.It is a 79 grand prix with stock front and rear springs and when she goes into a turn the right front collapses and the left front comes off the ground. It also bounces in the front when hitting ruts.

I have two new stock appearing front springs one is a 1000 and the other a 900 think these would help correct the collapsing and bouncing problem?

We are running cooper cobra radial tires on stock rims LR 235 60R15 RR 235 60R15 LF 205 15 RF 235 60R15.

We are also having a overheating problem I installed a flex a lite fan over the street steel performance fan but it still heated to about 230 degrees. Its a stock type new steel radiator with stock pulleys with no thermostat.Any suggestions?

Its a 301 pontiac.

Thank you.
Steve.

The springs should help, take an old thermostat cut out the center and try that for a restrictor, some times the stock pump will cavitate at high rpms, causing alot of air pockets, I've had this happen before, also make sure you have a good radiator, fan, and shroud.

Yes the radiator is new but 2 flew. The fan that was on it was an steel fan with aluminum pop riveted blades. The plastic flex a lite fan cooled no better. It has a good shroud but think the radiator and fan is the problem? The fan is a good 4 to 6 inches from the radiator.

I was thinking of a 1200 pound spring on the rf to.Maybe a 1000 on the lf and 12 on the right front.

Thanks for the advice its deeply appreciated.

Steve.

Try to find a 4 blade steel fan, make sure it is about even with the edge of the shroud, that should pull plenty of air.

You have to run a thurmostat or a restrictor. I sugest puting in a new 180deg thurmostat. They are only $5 at autozone.
