Were there any metric cars 108" wheel base that came with 350 engines or any grand prixs that came with larger than 301 C.I.Engines?

Im running a car in the cruiser class that says in the rules must run motor for make and model of car but many in the metric cars are running 350`s and getting away with it.

Thanks Steve.

I did some research and the 350`s did not come in the 1978-up 108 inch wheel base metric car chevy`s they only show the 305 max C.I.for chevy`s and 301 max C.I.for pontiac grand prix ect.

Thanks Steve.

Most rules like that are meant that if it had a small block like a 305 you could run a 350, but if the car never came with a big block or a v-8 even you cant run them. I had a 85 gran prix that had the small block chevy 305 in it and it was factory. If i was running against a guy that had put a 350 in place of a 305 I wouldn't **** and moan. I mean come on....if the car origanlly came with a small block, let it be....its not like he put in a 454. If the car came origanlly with a 305 would you complain if he drops in a 267 cuz thats all he can find to get it back on the track? In some cases you just have to let it be just for the sake of keeping car counts up. JMO.

Whats wrong with some people? lol My cutlass came with a 305 small block chevy also. Ive seen even some of the older cultass's come with chevy small blocks. If these so called tech guys dont know these things, then maybe theres some stuff these guys could do to there cars that the tech guys wouldnt even know about. I'm not talking about cheating....just reading in the gray area of the rules lol.

If I remember right, you could get 350's in some of these cars. I went to www.napaonline.com and as an example, looked for spark plugs for an '80 Malibu and one of the engine options was a 350.

51 I can assure you the 80`s malibu did not come with a 350 I dont care what napa says.

The only way they had a 350 is if one personally installed one themselves. The parts books knew people would be doing the engine swap so they added the 350 to their books for lack of confussion.

Actually I was just going to post a follow up to my post with another site a friend found: http://www.automotive.com/1979/12/chevrolet/malibu/specifications/index.html

It appears to only be the Malibu's. Possibly because they were occasionally used as police cars?
