I had a heck of time figuring out what shocks to run. I never could find any racing shocks for the front (any ideas?) so I just run the heavy duty gas Monroe shocks from the local parts store. These have been okay for 3-4 races. In the back I run Pro shocks built for GM metrics. To run these, I pressed out the bushings to run urethane bushings to get them to mount up right. I'm still not sure if these are the way to go because they sit at a funny angle but I haven't had any probs. My rules only allow stock mounts and stock mount positions.

I'm working on finding Bilsteins for mine. How does your shock mount up? Metric style looks like it might work for me.

Finally, I'm not sure what style shock you run, but I got a chev style bilstein to work on mine last nite. I have the "bayonet" end on top and an eyelet on bottom. The GM use a weird tab on the bottom. I just pounded that tab out.

I'm just finishing my Aspen w/ a Cordoba clip. I race at Owendale Speedway in Michigan. A body t-bars are the perfect length. Will post some pics as soon as I figure out how

I really didn't cut anything. I used the aspen frame rails and dober k-frame. Had to carve out the inner left rail for the steering box and used duster t-bars to locate k-frame. Boxed the frame like the mopar book and gusseted everything. T-bar anchors end up right in the trans crossmember. 108 in wb.

Does the k-frame bolt right in or does the cage hold it in?

Do you have to use Duster t-bars? I don't know the lengths....

It doesn't bolt in, its wider by about 2 in. I located it w/ t-bars and an engine block and trans, filled in the gaps w/ steel and welded it hard. Cut holes in the tran crossmember for t-bar anchors first, slid them in and let them float until everything is located, tacked them in (anchors) and made sure t-bars slid in and out.

Any guess of what the car weighs (or will weigh)?

I don't know yet. It only has to weigh 3000 but if I can get 3200 w/ good numbers I'll be happy

As far as the metric stub goes, I'd quit b/4 I'd do that.

No, the 73-79 B bodies and R bodies have a torsion bar of thier own.
