i am working on a 305 and the balancers keep separating from the inner hub. the motor will be going in a derby car. I was told that if i won't be ,reving over 7000 that it would be o.k. to just run the inner part of the balancer.does this sound right? want to be able to use the motor for all of this year for sure.

That's just asking for problems, just use a 350 balancer and the timing tab that goes with it.

Here's a little tip to keep the balancer from slipping on the rubber ring. (this is assuming your balancer hasn't twisted is completly wore out). Go to any parts house and get a 3/16" roll pin. Drill a hole through the outerrind and into the inner ring then tap the roll pin through the hole. Garanteed to work everytime.
