I have a question for you brainiacs that I can't seem to find the answer to. I have a 383 stroker (mainly all stock parts) that I just bought off a guy. Whenever I rev the engine up, the timing is retarding itself instead of advancing. I have tried everything I can think of. Any ideas?

rubber in balancer worn out and causing
the balancer to slip?

timing cover flexing could cause cam to be walking towards the front of motor. does the timing cover flex as you wrap the throttle?

someone posted a similar question about a
