Will a rear end and a steering box from a 1977 monte carlo fit in a 1988 monte carlo SS? also what are some ways you fella's used to mount your fuell cells? Thanks

Im guessin it wont because in 1978, they strated the "metric style" of cars and the 77 is the larger version on the monte.
In my class they dbont left us sink the cell all the way down in the car. The bottom of the cell can just sit below the bottom of the trunk. I cut the trunk out and weld two pieces of 1.5" tubing across the back to set the cell on. Then, I fabricate a box using 1" square tubing that the cell fits in. Then use the 1" tubing across the top of it. Do not put two little 2" straps under and around the cell. I have seen at least 4 of those types of mounts fail and drop the cell to the track.
