Changed the Inline fuel filter Gf69pl in between the carb and fuel pump. Car starts and idles fine. Question is, It is a clear filter case and I can see that the gas only gurgles arround in the bottom of the filter and dosn't fill up half way or so like the one I took off. Does this indicate a blockage or a problem, or is it fine?

My filter is in my trunk (same part # - nice coincidence) so I can't tell you what it looks like when the car is on the track, but if it used to be 1/2 full...

two thoughts:
1- what's your fuel pressure? if it's fine, I wouldn't worry.
2- have you driven the car hard yet? Maybe it takes some hard drivin' to get enough gas going through the lines to fill the filter up - idling doesn't **** much gas...

If yours is underhood, where'd you mount it? I can't seem to make enough room to fit it nicely underhood.

I have a similar clear filter between the carb and fuel pump. It only has the lower part filled when I start cranking it, but will fill all the way up when its warmed up. This is in a streetcar though.

I have had clear filters like that too and it was only partially full and I always thought it was weird. It never seemed to be an issue though.

We never run a filter up in carb or between carb and fuel pump.....it restricts gas flow.

We have clear filter on line leaving fuel cell....as I recall it never completly fills up.

I heard the best place to run it was between the pump and the carb. Eddie

I run a clear filter between the pump and the carb. Also thought something was wrong when it did'nt fill up. I've run it twice now and ran it pretty hard, 6200 rpm, and the motor runs like a top. If everything works fine I'd leave it alone.

filter in the trunk is ok, but you need one close to the carb. lines deteriate rubber and steel and you get that trash into your carb. much easier to change a plugged filter than a plugged carb.
