Just curious what you have to start with? Or or you starting from scratch and what kind of car is it? Each type frame benefits differently from roll cage design.

Please add a vent bar to each side of the cage. This bar is a small bar that gets welded onto the top door bar and goes to the bar that follows the line of the windshield. (you often see drivers sticking there hand out that little opeining. Also put the same bar on the other side. This litte bars strengths the frame SO MUCH if you were to roll the car. With out the bar, since the two front windshield bars are already bent at about 45 degrees, when you get on your top, they just simply colaspe because the spanned distace between to two bars is too great. On my first cage I built, I didnt have it and when I rolled it, the bar colasped down about a foot. I was luck it was on the passengers side of the car or I woulda been kinda pinned. If you send me a PM, I will try to get some pictures of my cage to send to you. I think it is real safe. Later

waltonjr1,
Have you ever rolled your car? Im guessing you havent or youd have a vent bar on the passenger side also.

When you roll a car usually the first part that hits the track is the passenger side roof (right in the very front) because of all the momentum. I have rolled cars twice and both thimes, they hit in that very same spot. The first time I rolled it the passenger side caved in (no vent bar) and the second time, it did not bend becuase of that bar. Just somethinf to think about.
