Most of the cars I've seen run that way, never seen a problem (now you'll get a few dozen replies from people who have - lol).

Is your car light to begin with. What reason would you possible have to add more weight to an already to heavy car. If someone gave you 10 lbs track shoes cause they would help plant your feet better and then asked you to race for money would you. I know someone is goin to say for rear precentages, but rather than add weight to gain percentages why not take some off the nose of the car there is a ton of weight up there.

sidebite i think you forget sometimes that peole have rules they have to go by.what if you have taken all the weight out of the front that you can already by the rules and are in a class where you can't add any, then the next best thing is put the weight you can work with in the best spot for you like a big battery or a big fuel cell. keep in mind this is the bomber forum and most bomber classes can't do a whole lot to modify or add anything other then safty stuff. as for the safty put it back there in a marine type box and wrap it in old inner tubes and foam rubber so it can't arch and you will be fine i take a couple pieces of 1/2 in all thread and run it down thru the floor into a bracket i made under the truck thats weled to the frame rail then i take a piece of 3/16 flat bar and weld angle iron to it the width of the battery and put holes in the end to put on the all thread then just put it in a boat box set the 3/16's on the top and bolt her down tight then add a tube and put the top on the box and strap it down
