The stock motor mounts for a monte carlo are reversible and interchangable. You can switch them up and it doesn't matter. You need to get the engine mounts for a GM product car that came with a V8 to solve your problem.

I agree with raceman the GM cars should all be the same. Eddie

they are all the same (basically)- but stock mounts upper and lowers will only fit together a specific way there is like tabs that will only fit into a small pocket a certain way -if ya have a lower mount on upside down it wont go together sounds like what ya might have done

You cant put the lower mounts on upside down. If you use the first two upper holes in the frame on each side of the frame you will not be able to turn them upside down because the holes will not line up with the holes on the frame motor mount. I just put new mounts on my car tonight and I checked to see if you could and you cant do it using the first two upper holes on each side. But back to the motor mounts. I took out the motor mounts that I had in the shop and looked at them. The two sets that I had were both different. The bolt holes to line up with the engine are the same but the distance from the mounting pad to the center of the thru hole on the mount was differnet. I suspect this was because at one time I had a large impala that had a 350 in it and those might have been the motor mounts from it. They look the same as the one for the metric ones but there not.
