HOW IMPORTANT IS THE HEAT SHIELD ON THE BOTTOM OF THE INTAKE? THE ALUM. ONES DONT HAVE IT. CAN YOU RUN WITHOUT IT WITHOUT PROBLEMS? ANYONE? THANKS, NEIL

It is exactly that...a heat shield. It helps to keep the air-fuel mixture cool. Don't know why the aluminum ones don't have them, probably due to better cooling properties of the metal, but if it ain't in the way I'd leave it on.

I WANT TO REMOVE EM SO I CAN CLEAN UNDER IT. I HAVE THIS FEAR OF THE RIVETS COMING LOOSE AND FALLING IN THE ENGINE. ANY IDEAS? OR SHOULD I QUIT WORYING ABOUT IT? THANKS, NEIL

drill out the rivets and tap the holes with a small button head screw to reattach the heat shield that is how all of mine are

drive hard or drive home
