I'm getting ready to buy a new trailer, what are some of the name brands of trailers that I should stay away from even if they are inexpensive?

Also, what trailers name brand do you think is the best bang for the buck? Good trailer for little money?

If you are after a good open trailer build one I did and built it the way I wanted, I used motor home axles and have had the trailer for 5 years now used my own design and its great. Eddie

Look up Appalachian manufacturing. The make a decent trailer on have pretty good prices too. They're in South Eastern Ohio and wouldn't be a far drive from Maryland. They'll make anything you want. I started with a basic 18' open and they added the frame for a full width 6' long box 6' high and a tire rack on the back side of it. Total length is 25'. With break away kit, lights, spare tire and all it was $2550 last spring. My only 2 gripes are it's a bit heavy (full diamond plate steel deck on 22' of it) and they're way off on their time estimates. If they say 3 weeks, figure on 2-3 months.

They also make enclosed trailers and the ones I saw on the lot looked pretty decent and were around $4500-$5000 for a 20' or 24'. Can't remember for sure.

I think their website is or sumthing like that.

try to find an H&H dealer in your area. I used to work for them but left for personal reasons and I still think that they make one of the best trailers out there. Open, enclosed or built to your specs, you decide.

I've got an h&h tilt bed trailer and I love it. the tilt is great-no ramps to deal with and it wasn't much more than a regular flat bed. Check prices at alot of places they vary alot. I found places selling the same exact trailer for 1-2 thousand more than I paid. And as far as building a trailer yourself it isn't worth it. for around 1500-2500 you can get a really good new trailer. you would have around a thousand in just material and axles if you bought all new.
