HOW DO YOU GO ABOUT FINDING OUT WHAT RATIO YOU HAVE ? I KNOW YOU HAVE TO COUNT THE GEARS IN THE REAREND BUT HOW DO YOU FIGURE IT ALL OUT? JUST NEED SOME ONE TO EXPLAIN IT TO ME PLEASE.

count the ring gear and divide it by the teeth on the pinion

I did it today and had 47 on the ring and 21 on the pinion makes for a 2.23

Also alot of times the gear ratio will be on the ring gear. when you pull the pan off it will be stamped on the side of the gear. my metric has it stamped as the ring gear teeth number and pinion teeth number. My pickup has the actual ratio stamped on it.

The gears I checked yesterday had the stamps covered with that thick bight yellow marking stuff. It filled in the stampings enough I couldnt read them.. Grrrr!

Yeah, but they are stamped, but hard to read most of the time.
