I need to know how to wire an alternator. I've always ran the 2 wires through a toggle switch and turned it on while running. Now I need to know how to wire it so the car will continue to run even if the battery is disconnected.

if you have big red wire connected to cable at starter or batt cable somewhere after shut off switch with toggle switch on it should run w/o battery.

Ok heres how you do it. From the two wire plug, Run the big red wire right around to the batt post on the back of the alternaor. Run a wire from that post to the batt or starter cable. The brown wire does not need to be connected. With stock pulleys the alternator will turn on at around 1700 RPM. With a 5 inch alt puley and a 6 inch crank pulley it will turn on at around 3000 RPM and will stay on untill the engine stops turning.
