How can we set our front end settings without a caster/camber guage? Any good ways that can be shared? Thanks BIGG C

You can make one. Look in Circle Track, Sleepy had an article on how to make one. Pretty much just take a piece of solid round steel and cut it so it fits just inside the lip of your rim (camber)and then take a piece of tubing and notch one end so you can slip one end on the top bj and the other end will set on the other bj and just take an angle finder to it.(caster)When you weld make sure the pieces are perfectly square, when its done it will somewhat resemble a cross.

Trying to set up a 84 mustang which is a strut front end. It only has one ball joint on the lower arm, no top arm. We use a angle finder now. The Harber Freight guage has no markings and is only for returning back to setting if you already know what it is. How do you set caster/camber with string line? We square car with string now. As far as camber...you can use a carpenters square...**** up to tire on the bottom and measure 1 to 1 1/2 in in at the top for the right...even top and bottom for the left.

easy way to do it is get your car level. you want the upper ball joint on the right to be 3/4 to an 1inc behind the lower, and aimed slightly back to the rear of the car..

on the left side you want your upper ball joint to be 1/4 of an inch behind your lower, and the ball joints to be in line.

that will get you dang near on the money, but then you need to set ride height. and anything over 1/2 of height change will effect the caste/camber settings. then you need to recheck your toe out. once you get all that set right you wont beleive how much easyer the car is to turn.

oops now i see you are running struts. easiest way to go there is do like mentioned above with the framing square exept i would go with top in an 1 1/2 on r/s, and 1/2 - 3/4 in in on l/s top. and same as above on the strut/ all joint positioning. which will require you to move the top strut saddles..

Get it set once and use tape measure and a 4ft-level. Did it for years.
