I got to run a stock rear in my metric car. I want to put 3.73's or 4 somthings in it. what's the deal with the different carries I've heard about on these rears. The rear I got now is something like 2.43, so does putting a different carrier in require any other mods?

the lower the gear the smaller the pinion, which requires you to move ring gear towards the center. there is a spacer you can buy. a pretty penny, or if you are brave enough you can take the 2 thick spacers out od both sides and put them both on the right side. i ran mine like that for 10 races and never had a problem.

You can buy a thick ring gear for that carrier,it's always more expensive to do it that way tho..Two spacers on one side?Man i have a hard time getting them to last set up the right way...

Go to the junkyard and get one out of a S-10 or Astro van with 323-410 gears.
