I have several wheels, all the same 3" offset. I did get one with a 4" offset. Should I consider using it on one wheel? If so, which one and what are the advantages?

offset wheels can help in many ways i run 2 in. on fron 4 in. on rr and 3 in. on lft rear. but if i need to tighten up a loose car i can usually do it buy puting a 2 in. on the lr

IT ALL DEPENDS IF YOUR REAR END IS LOCKED OR NOT?

I put the higher offset wheels on the left side on a tacky track and on the right side on a slick track. It helps.

i've got some extra wheels i have not ued yet. how do i find their offsets?

offset is also known as back space basicly put the back side of the wheel on the ground and messure to the mounting surface
