I ran one, I like the idea of not having to charge the battery every week and also I have all the voltage the HEI needs to run properly.

heres how I ran mine from the large post on the alt I run a wire to a switch (mine has a light ) on my control panel next to the seat then back to the #2 on the alt pigtail or harness
this way if ya want the few extra H/P then ya can swich it off and while doin weekly tuning and checkin ya can charge the battery and while warming the oil and sittin in line up and so on

some times I forget to turn it off and have not noticed any difference in power so I may be wasting time by doin it this way but it sure does get some attention from sponsors and fans wanting to know what that bright blue light is for

1 time I told a fellow racer it was the power booster switch and that day I won a heat shortly after the tech guy and the promoter came to my pit and demanded to see my POWER BOOSTER rolling on the ground laughin my tail off I showed them man was there some red faces that day and 1 really blue 1 the guy never even looks in my direction any more what a weasel lollol

hope this helps ya

why run something extra, that can cause more trouble down the road?It does not take alot of energy or time to charge up a battery during the week.keep it simple.

I do the same thing as mrtee. Works out real well. Also, no one ever believes me but, I usually see about a 200 rpm increase in the tach recall by running without the alternator.

lefthander sells a kit alt or power steering.

the yoke with pulley is the expensive part. 100 bucks last I looked.

Its a good idea for a person with a quick change who isnt taking it apart all the time, and only needs one yoke.

But I dont think you want to increase your unsprung wt hanging it on the rearend??
