I'm going to change from a powerglide to a standard transmission next season and could use a little advice? I found a 3 speed from a early 70's chevy truck but I am unsure of the details and was wondering if the flywheels and clutch disks from a 4 speed will work? and what about the bell housing?

the answer to your questions, yes flywheel will work, only problem is most trucks used a big flywheel and clutch package,so they are pretty heavy.also, the bellhousing will work.

i'd get a blowproof housing they are not that much when you think about what they do for ya stock housings have been known to crack and don't protect your legs like the aftermarket ones will.if you want a smaller flywheel i have a 350 153 tooth that i'd sell for 30bucks plus shipping

the bearing retainer is too big for a explosion proof bell so you need to put the smaller retainer on other then that they are not heavier then car ones
