This is a wide open question, but here goes.
No building cost.
Average night
30.00 Gas for travel.
25.00 pit entrance fee
40.00 Racing Fuel cost
30.00 Misc items
Not including any damage.
Don't think about all the winnings. LOL

His numbers sound a lil high but that will get you in the ball park range. Depends how far the track is from your house. What you pull it with etc. How much the pit pass is. It is a very open ended question. But his numbers are ball park.

Everyone I have talked to says it costs about the same for every class. You can bet on about $100 a night.

This does not take into account racing tires for the classes that can run em.

I agree with racer 17j. There's nothing worse than having the wrecker load your car up instead of driving it on the trailer. Our pit passes are 25 bucks, about $20 for my truck to tow it, $ 25 to $35 on racing fuel and me and the wife spend about $10 on track food. Nothing like our tracks cheeseburgers, almost like fair food lol.

Remember to add the pay for your helpers if you pay their way. I told my help that I will pay $10 of his $20 pit pass because he would have to pay $10 every week anyway to watch from the stands but I'll pay the difference for his help.

If he gets me any sponsors I'll pay his whole pit pass if we get enough. So that motivated him to do some talking and if his potential sponsors come on board next season with what they say ($$$) he will get free pit pass and a cheeseburger every week!

Food and beer are not costs that should be taken into account as a racing expense.

You have to eat if you go racing or not.
And if you drink, it is the same.

so find a figure 8 class it pays way better
the last race we had i finished 3rd in the feature and got more than most guys running circles to finish 1st and it is more exciting to watch and drive

just don't do what i did in the pic attached it cost me over 1000 to fix.

The only problem with driving in a figure 8 race is the fact that you have to drive in a figure 8 race.

You figure 8 boys are crazy. I've run in demolition derbies longer than I've raced, but you couldn't pay me enough to strap into a figure 8 car.

There's a fine line between "not having the balls" to do something and just not doing something I think is kind of dumb.

Well if you want to get right down to it how dumb is it to build a car that can get totaled out every week and take you as well? Got to love it or get out!
