whats a good place to start with the toe setting on the front wheels on a '84 cutlass purestock?

our car was hit last sunday in the heat in the front, then went out for the feature & it drove better & it was toed in about 3/4 of an inch! I was setting it at zero before.....

we generally like at least 1/16 out but i have seen guys run it as much as 1/4 in to 1/2 out...my theory is different cars are set at different heights an travel different amounts so therefore different static toe
the dynamic toe aka bumpsteer is where the handling is

it toes IN with bumpsteer right?

so when going through the corner it should be toeing IN then right?

just trying to learn why the car seemed better when toed in...... I must have some other problem to deal with.

thanks for the comments!

My friend sets his up 1/4" toe in and it handles great. Mine was toed in quite a bit and wouldn't turn. I set mine straight up and it solved much of the problem. I think jay may be on to something.

the car enters the corner fine & then in the middle to off the corner it doesnt want to stay at the bottom no matter how I enter.

with it toed in it drove great, but it was toed in lots! I might try just a little toe-in next week & see what happens.

track is 3/8s mile with small banking & a smooth surface 98% of the time. They do a really good job of track prep! No big holes or bumps.

Its so easy to change at the track, I will try anything that easy to go faster!
