i was just curious to see what a common timing setting is on a mid 70's 350? it seems i'm running a little rich and advanced so i just wanted to see what you others are doing! 1/4 mile high banked track!

We set our s at a total of 36* at 2-3000 rpms reving to about 5 or 6000 to make sure timing doesn't keep climbing up. hope this helps Josh K.

I read on a past post in here somewhere that if you are running stock exhaust manifolds you want to be at 26 degrees and headers 36 degrees I myself set timing at 42 degrees. Eddie

currently running 38 degrees and i past i have run 39 degrees. timinmg is fully advanced by 2500 rpms. i was told anything over 40 would cause detonation.

Unless you guys are using a dyno anything over 36 is likely to be robbing ponies.
