I WAS THINKING TODAY ABOUT THE WAY I DROVE IN HEAT AND FEATURE, HEAT I WAS ON THE FLOOR ALOT, IN THE FEATURE I HELD BACK TO ABOUT 3/4 THROTTLE UNTIL THE END. THEN LAST COUPLE LAPS WAS WIDE OPEN AGAIN AND THATS WHEN IT STARTED RUNNING BAD AGAIN. IT SEEMS TO BE A WIDE OPEN THROTTLE PROBLEM. THE ENGINE DID NOT SPUTTER OR POP OR ANYTHING JUST SOUNDED A LITTLE ROUGH AND SEEMED TO LOOSE POWER

are you useing a rubber fuel hose from the cell to the pump? if so use a hard line. i use aluminum tubing 1/2". and about a foot of rubber on each end.

Sounds to me like its an ignition problem. Are you running a stock HEI set-up? If you are, change the module to a hi-performance module from MSD. Run an MSD coil under the cap(it looks stock). Get a cap and rotor kit with the brass contacts on both. If your running wires a year old or so, change em. In my opinion, I'd run a set of R45TS Delco plugs with the gap set to 45. Also, run a set of Z-28 or H-11 Tool steel valve springs, if you are check for weak or collapsed ones. Hope it helps.
