How do y'all weld the doors to your cars? I've seen where the doors are completely gutted and then just welded to the body, but I kept the door hinges and bolted the doors back up. How do you weld the doors shut then? Any ideas?

If the gap is too much then you can use a piceof sheet meatle to help fillin the gap you can do it 2 ways one weld the fill piece to the inside of the door jam and shut the door and then weld away

thanks guys,

I ended up making filler pieces out of some 1/8" stock I had and welded 'em up. Now I got to make 'em look purty

I use 22ga steel and pop rivet the to the fenders and body works great and easy to replace. Eddie

we pull the quarters forward 1 in and the fender back all the way on the adjusters and rivet the doors over the fenders and the quarters. you must grind the front and rear lip on the doors to look good but it makes for easy replacement and no welding.

DSMFANATIC, i liked that last qoute! ive got a good place for it on my car (interior sheetmetal) with your permisson of course! thanks, neil ps. we always grind all the way around the door, and the skin will pop off. yes you have to work with the adhesive a little on the inside, but its not hard.

sure neil go nuts. a freind of mine came up with that saying( just to agrivate the poeple who say race cars are a waste of money) but the way I figure it could be worse, i could have taken up fishing, I'd spend alot more money and wouldn't get to show off as much!!!
