I run a 87' Buick Regal. I have 53% left side, 49% cross weight, and 47% rear weight. I have 200 lbs in the trunk trying to get more rear %. The car must weigh 3400 lbs. I run the stock rear springs. If I change the rear springs to 225 l/r and 200r/r will it transfer more weight to the rear??? I need bite and traction.... The engine is in the stock location.

The front is as light as I can get it. I'll add more to the rear and rescale. Next time I'll set the motor back as far as the rules will allow. Thanks

You can lose a significant amount of front weight by cutting out the "A" pillars 50# or so. The "A" pillars are what the door hinges mount to. If you are allowed to do this you will also have to brace the firewall at the brake pedal mount for safety. You can bend the firewall on hard braking.

I've added more weight to the trunk and have the fuel cell full. Now my %'s are 53 l/s, 50 Rear, and 48 Cross weight. It will probably not handle well. We have practice today so I'll see what I have.

My usual luck prevailed in practice. We cut the fuel line on the first lap. We used the existing line. We had it ran from where it comes out of the frame in the left front then under the radiator to the fuel pump. Somehow the line got into the fan. (Could have been a fireball.) We have re-routed it so it can no way get into the fan again. Then when it was our turn to practice again
the accelerator pump in the carb went bad. It wouldn't crank. Changed carbs and finally was able to practice. Remarkably we handled well and I think we have something for them now. If we can get the cross weight up a bit (48% now) I think we just might win our first one. May have to junk those stock rear springs.
