Would you guys recomend using dummy lights instead of gauges? By dummy lights i mean the kind you can buy and set it to what temp. or pressure you want. I just want to know if you guys would recomend this, it seems like in the straight aways you only have a second to look at the gauges and the flag man and the car in front of you. I think it would just make it a lot eaiser. what do you think?

I would, and do, use both. The dummy lights are handy as they catch your eye, but it's still good to have solid numbers. The temperature gauge can aid in telling you how your motor is running. I would at the very least run one of those.

I like to use marker lights for a trailer, amber for water and red for oil. I mount them down low but they will catch the eye if there is a problem.
