Our class requires "stock" springs, would it be wise to get some front springs from the junkyard or order a set of factory springs from the dealer?Any input would help.

I would get new springs. Like anything you get from the junk yard you really donít know what you are getting; is it worn out (spring rate dead) or bent, you really donít know unless you have a spring tester. But itís a good way to go if you donít have the money at the time and/or you are just starting out. When I ran a pure stock at the beginning of the year we always bought new springs, ball joints, tierods, bushings and shocks if it needed it or not and used the old stuff for spares. Good luck.

BUY RACING SHOCKS AND PAINT THEM WHEN IT IS STILL WET ROLL THEM IN THE DIRT AND MEKE THEM OLD/STOCK OR BURN THE PAINT OFF WITH A PROPAIN TORCH AND LEAVE THEM IN THE RIIN TO GET RUSTY HENCE STOCK

racing springs are cheap call suspension spring specialists and tell them exactly what rules say about spring rules some say wire guage must be the same side to side and some just say stock springs and you could get away with stock appearing springs. they have ways around the rules just talk to them.

there is no wayt to truly tell a racing spring from a stock spring if you doctor them up a bit tips like mentioned above are good you can also hit the tip with a cutting torch so it looks like you cut down stock springs just make sure you grind off the rate stamped into the flat part you'll spend more time searching the junk yards for the perfect set of springs then it will cost for racing springs don't be like my father in law last year and go to the parts store and pay the same price for stock replacements that are nowear near the right rates if you want some rears i'll sell you a pair pretty cheap 250,200 double pig tails 14 in tall tru coils from speedway for 47.95 each. have about 20 nites on um will take 35 plus shipping for the pair and they have been thru stcok spring only tech a bunch of times never a word said
