track rules say to run a stock open chamber head with rochester 2bbl and 180 pounds of compression.just interested in advice on head selection.leaning toward 487x heads but am open for any suggestions.any help would be greatly appreciated.

The 487s are verrrrrry good ==usually pricey. 441's are ok too.

is there a better intake to go with i have one casting #266 with egr or is a non-egr intake better

Get the older non EGR!!! valve intake.

If your carb is flowed at 500cfm or better then by all means use the 487x's. If not then I like 336x's and a 777 intake. There are 2 777 intakes. Use the 1 with 5/8 to 3/4 inch tall casting number. Correct cam and gear plus a " littl roundn " here and there in the heads will get you a hoss you'll love ridn. Carl

thanks for all the help everyone.could you post the whole casting # for the 777 intake and what did it come on.my rochester 2 bbl is supposed to flow 519 cfm.so i purchased a set of 487x's should be here this week.
